సెంటి"మెంటల్" చాలా ఎక్కువ!...

ఓ టి.వి. చానలు నిర్వహిస్తున్న "ఆడువారి మాటలకు" అను కార్యక్రమం చూసారా. మీరు ఇప్పటి వరకు చూడనట్లేతే దయచేసి చూడకండి. నిన్న నేను ఆ కార్యక్రమం చూసిన తరువాత నా జీవితం పై నాకే విరక్తి కలిగింది.
ఈ కార్యక్రమం, అందులో పాల్గోన్న కుటుంబసభ్యుల మధ్య అనవసర కలహలను రేపుతోంది. ఇప్పటికే ప్రతి సిరియల్ లోను ఏడుపులు, కలహలు, కుట్రలు, కుతంత్రాల తో నిండి పోయాయి. ఇప్పుడు అది, గేం షో లకు కూడా ప్రాకింది. ఒవైపు పార్టిసిపేటు ఏడవడం, అది చూసి మిగిలిన వారు ఏడవడం, వారిని చూసి యాంకరు ఏడవడం, అలా ఏడ్చిన తరువాత యాంకరు , తను త్యాగం చేసినట్లు మధ్యలో వెల్లిపొవడం, విటిని చూస్తున్న మనకు జీవితంపై విరక్తి కలగడం , ఇలా ఈ సెంటి"మెంటల్" అనే చక్రం లొ పడి మనకు పిచ్చెక్కుతుంది.

The Story of Mother's Day

The earliest Mother's Day celebrations can be traced back to the spring celebrations of ancient Greece in honor of Rhea, the Mother of the Gods. During the 1600's, England celebrated a day called "Mothering Sunday". Celebrated on the 4th Sunday of Lent (the 40 day period leading up to Easter*), "Mothering Sunday" honored the mothers of England.During this time many of the England's poor worked as servants for the wealthy. As most jobs were located far from their homes, the servants would live at the houses of their employers.
On Mothering Sunday the servants would have the day off and were encouraged to return home and spend the day with their mothers. A special cake, called the mothering cake, was often brought along to provide a festive touch.As Christianity spread throughout Europe the celebration changed to honor the "Mother Church" - the spiritual power that gave them life and protected them from harm. Over time the church festival blended with the Mothering Sunday celebration .
People began honoring their mothers as well as the church.In the United States Mother's Day was first suggested in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe (who wrote the words to the Battle hymn of the Republic) as a day dedicated to peace. Ms. Howe would hold organized Mother's Day meetings in Boston, Mass ever year.In 1907 Ana Jarvis, from Philadelphia, began a campaign to establish a national Mother's Day. Ms. Jarvis persuaded her mother's church in Grafton, West Virginia to celebrate Mother's Day on the second anniversary of her mother's death, the 2nd Sunday of May.
By the next year Mother's Day was also celebrated in Philadelphia.Ms. Jarvis and her supporters began to write to ministers, businessman, and politicians in their quest to establish a national Mother's Day. It was successful as by 1911 Mother's Day was celebrated in almost every state. President Woodrow Wilson, in 1914, made the official announcement proclaiming Mother's Day as a national holiday that was to be held each year on the 2nd Sunday of May.While many countries of the world celebrate their own Mother's Day at different times throughout the year, there are some countries such as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Australia, and Belgium which also celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May.

Do you know about 1074? In case the auto drivers refused to operate the digital meters even after installing them, passengers could call toll free number 1074 and lodge complaints or at the RTA offices. Do the auto drivers charge you more? Do call the number and lodge a complaint. The complaints would be taken serious and the autos would be seized if found guilty. If you can specify the auto number, that would ease the officials work to seize a particular vehicle. It seems like the auto drivers are taking revenge on us because we supported the initiative of installing the digital meters.

The same thing applies for Metered Taxis also. Did you know that you could call the toll free number 1074 in case you find a school bus flouting transport norms? According to rules, a school bus is supposed to have a qualified driver, a cleaner to assist the driver and an attender to assist the kids get in and out of the bus besides having a first aid kit. If you find sleeper coaches with two beds side by side, then also you can complain the same. Don’t hesitate to call. Every call is taken positively. Do you want your driving licence, registration certificate or any other document delivered at your doorstep? Sounds interesting, isn't it? With a view to avoiding inconvenience to those coming for various works to the Road Transport Authority (RTA) office in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts, officials have come out with a novel idea of `RTA Post'. The Transport Minister, S. Santosh Reddy, launched the new facility on Friday. All you need to do is purchase a `RTA Post' envelope, which costs Rs. 10, fill in the address to which the document is to be delivered and the contact number and submit it at the RTA office. The Transport Department will undertake the delivery of the document at the given address. In case documents are lost in transit, the department will bear the cost of regeneration and re-delivery of the document. In case of delay in receipt of document, one can call on the toll-free number - 1074. "The documents will be despatched within a day of being processed," With the launch of `RTA Post', the public need not approach middlemen. All applicants coming to the office for driving licence, registration of vehicle, issue of permits (for transport vehicles) need not wait in the office after submitting the applications. "You need not visit the office again to collect the documents," the Minister said, adding that the document would be delivered through the Transport Department Employees' Mutually Aided Cooperative Credit Society.

Please don’t forget to lodge a complaint if you feel it as wrong or violating rules. If you don’t, some more people will suffer.

వార్తా చానెల్లు "మెరుగైన సమాజం" తీసుకువస్తాయా!.....

ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి లొ చదివిన వార్తకు స్పందనగా....మన ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ లొ అరడజనుకు పైగా వార్తా చానెల్లు ఉన్నాయి. వాటిలొ 'మెరుగైన సమాజం' కోసం మొదలు పెట్టినవి యెంత వరకు సమాజం గురించి ఆలోచిస్తున్నాయి.
దాదాపు రెండు సంవత్సరాల క్రితం, ఇంజనీరింగు కళాశాలలొ ఓ విద్యార్థి ని సీనియర్లు దారుణంగా ర్యాగింగు చేసారు. అతని బట్టలు విప్పించి తీవ్ర అసభ్యకరంగా ప్రవర్తించడమే కాకుండా వాటిని వీడియో తీసారు.ఓ టి.వి చానలు వాటిని రోజంతా ప్రసారం చేసింది.ఆ విద్యార్థి బాధతో అరుస్తున్న దృశ్యాలను అందరికి ప్రదర్శించి చూపింది.దానితో మనస్తాపం చెంది అతని తల్లి ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకొంది.
కొన్ని నేలల క్రితం, కిరణ్ కుమార్ అనే విద్యార్థి అమెరికాలో హత్యకు గురయ్యాడు. ఆ సంగతి తెలిసి పలు టి.వి చానళ్ల రిపొర్టర్లు అతని బాబాయి ఇంటికి చేరుకున్నారు. కాసేపటికి ఆ విద్యార్థి సొదరి ఇంటికి వచ్చారు. సొదరుడి మరణ వార్త విని విళపించడం ప్రారంభించారు. టి.వి చానళ్ల రిపొర్టర్లు "ఇటు తిరిగి ఏడవండి మేడం" అంటూ ఆమెని కోరారు.ఆమె ఏడుస్తున్న ద్యశ్యాలను చిత్రికరించి ప్రసారం చేయాలన్న అత్రమే తప్ప మనుషులు, వారి మనోభవాల గురించి ధ్యాసే వారికి లేకపొయింది.
ఇది కేవలం ఓక ఉదాహరణ మాత్రమే. ఇలాంటివి ఏన్నొ ప్రతి రోజూ వస్తున్నాయి. ఇదేనా సమాజం ను మెరుగుపరచే విధానం.ఇటువంటి టి.వి కార్యక్రమాలను నియంత్రించడానికి ప్రభుత్వం ఓక చట్టాని తీసుకు వచ్చి, వాటిని కచ్చితంగా అమలు చేయాలి.
